Condition: Very good vintage condition. Some wear and several small scratches on the bottom and a bit of missing lacquer near the hallmark. Please see photos.
Details: Small paper mache box hand-painted with a forest scene featuring a tiger and deer. Tree and plant motif continues around the sides of the box. Inside and bottom are lacquered black. Marked on bottom in gold "HANDMADE IN KASHMIR INDIA".
Lacquered paper mache is a traditional craft in India, particularly in the Kashmir region.
